Patrick James Bayens is a professor of theology at Concordia University Chicago, where he has served since 2014. He previously taught at Concordia College—New York and served parishes in Wisconsin and Kentucky. His specialties and interests include biblical studies and translation, art history, liturgics, homiletics, hymn writing, and photography. He holds a PhD in religious studies from Marquette University (1993), an MA in art history from the University of Kentucky (2004), and an MDiv from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (1977).
